Ventilation and temperature control serve different functions
Temperature control alone does not establish adequate air renewal. When preparing commercial premises, assess both functions and how they work together. Ventilation needs an intake, circulation and extraction strategy suited to the activity and layout.
A shop, office and premises with dedicated process extraction do not necessarily share the same requirements. Occupancy, operating hours and sources of pollutants or odours are starting inputs for the assessment.
A system that fits the premises
Alongside the required airflow, allow for ducts, openings, outdoor intakes, exhaust points, equipment space and filter access. Routes need coordination with air conditioning, lighting, structure and acoustic conditions.
Heat recovery can be assessed where appropriate. Selection should consider the whole system, pressure losses, controls and maintenance; adding a heat-recovery unit does not by itself demonstrate a particular saving.
Check the applicable requirements
